Product options let you create and reuse frequently used options across different categories and products when you enable the feature. An example of when you would use a product option is when you want to indicate that an item is for take out, or to change the ice level for a beverage.
Each product option is grouped into a product option group for convenience and you can create as many product option groups and product options as you like. For example, a product option group could be salad dressing, with the product options of ceasar, balsamic, and thousand island.
1. Set up product options
Go to Settings > Product options
Create product option group
Select + New product option group and name the group according to required functions. For example, ice level, sweetness or other requests.
Toggle on necessary functions, and save.
|Name||Specify a name for this product option group. This name will be shown when attaching to categories or products|
|Custom Color||Select this option to allow for a custom color for this product option group. Assign different colors to make it easier to find a product option group at a glance|
|Required*||When toggled on, at least 1 product option needs to be selected when taking orders|
|Max quantity*||When toggled on, a maximum amount of product options chosen can be limited.|

Create items under product option group.
Select + New product option and name the modification according to the group it belongs to. For example, half ice, unsweetened, extra shot.
Set up necessary functions and save.
|Name||Specify a name for this product option|
|Price or Discount %||This will let you automatically modify the price of a line item, If a price is specified - can be any positive or negative value, the line item will be modified by this price. If instead Discount % is used, the line item will automatically calculate and apply a percentage discount|
|Allow multiple options||The same product option can be selected multiple times|
|Internal product code||A code used for reporting data across products and categories. A user defined code that can be shared between variants across different categories and products. The internal product code will be available when exporting sales data|
|Designate worklist||If you want executed items to be sent to a specific work list, turn on this option and select the desired worklist from the drop down list. You must have first created your worklists in the worklist section of your settings|
|Enable sub options||This will allow you to create sub options under a product option|
|Inventory management||When enabled, a product option will sync with one or more inventory containers|
2. Set up product options in menu
Set up in menu category
Product options will apply to all menu items when set up in menu category level.
Go to Settings > Menu
Select a menu category > select the pen icon on the top right corner > toggle on Product option > select the product options shoule be added to this menu category
Repeat the steps above to set up other menu categories.
If you wish product options would pop-up automatically, follow the instructions next part to turn on Automatically show options
Set up in single item
If product option only applies to a specific item in a menu category, follow the steps below to set up
Go to Settings > Menu > select category > select product > select the pen icon on the top right corner > toggle on Product Options > select the product options should be added to this product > toggle on Automatically show options if this function is needed > Save
Repeat the steps above to set up other products.
3. Review settings
Go to odering page and select a menu item that has been set up with product options. A + sign should appear next to the product name. Select + to open product option page.
If Automatically show options function is on, product option page should pop-up after selecting the item.
